Exterior Sun Shade Universal Mounting Brackets for Outdoor/Indoor Roller Blinds (Crank/Cordless)

Mounting brackets can be installed horizontally or vertically, depending on the fixture used to mount the shades. After determining the location for the mounting brackets, use the bracket as a template to mark the hole positions and pre-drill holes in the surface for inserting the plastic anchors.

If the medium onto which the brackets will be mounted is solid wood, plastic anchors are not necessary. Directly install the brackets with just screws if desired. For other mediums such as concrete or stone, an anchor is required. After the holes are drilled, insert the plastic anchors into the holes until flush with the surface. If needed, lightly tap the anchor into the hole with a hammer. Then attach the brackets to the surface with screws.

To mount the brackets vertically, remove the four screws from both brackets. Turn the Clutch Unit 90 degrees so the clutch eyelet hangs straight down if the Clutch were hanging from the top, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening is facing away from the window. Put the screws back in.

The last step is to install the bracket holders for the bungee cord and ring that is tied to the ends of the shade. This is used to help tie down the shade during windy conditions. Install the bracket at a side location, like with the mounting brackets. Ensure each bracket is at least 6 feet from the top of the shade and can be reached by the bungee cord. Insert the ring into the bracket to secure it.

For an alternative clutch setup, if you want your Clutch to be on the left side of your Shade, remove the four screws from the Crank unit and turn it 180 degrees so the wand eyelet can now hang down from the left side. Put the screws back in and tighten. No change is needed to the Idle End Unit, as it works for both right and left mounts.

If you want your Shade to hang from the top (e.g., the ceiling), you will need to make a simple change to your Crank unit and Idle End Unit before installing your Shade. Remove the four screws from both brackets, turn the Crank unit 90 degrees so the Clutch eyelet hangs straight down, and turn the Idle End Unit so the opening is facing away from the window. Put the screws back in.
